Apacs publishes new online gambling guide

UK payments association Apacs has launched a new advisory guide to online gambling, aiming to help web gamers understand the issues involved in participating online.

The guide, entitled Cards and Online Gambling, provides a comprehensive overview of web-based gambling, and offers advice on numerous issues that could otherwise confuse new users.

Online fraud, debt advice and a clear outline of what gambling games are and are not legal in the UK and around the world are just some of the subjects raised by the guide.

"We can help inform people about their choices. This guide is about giving cardholders the information they need to take responsible decisions about their money when gambling online," said Sandra Quinn, director of communications at Apacs.

"Our top tips for keeping safe are only to spend what you can afford, check the terms and conditions that apply, check online security carefully and check your card statements for fraud," Ms Quinn concluded.
