Bath launches casino consultation

Bath and North East Somerset Council has launched a public consultation on its bid for a small casino in the city.
The council has bid for a license to create a 900 to 1,000 square-metre casino in the city, which would "ensure distinctiveness and high quality, with an emphasis on gaming tables".
Six sites around the city are being considered as possible locations for the casino, which would be created under the casino act.
The council believes that a casino would be vital for building a long-term sustainable economy for the city and its surrounding area.
Now the people of Bath are to get their say at a public exhibition on December 15th and 16th, which aims to address issues such as the size of the casino and the other facilities that could be attached to it.
Councillor Colin Darracott told the BBC: "The bid is an important part of the Future for Bath Vision, which aims for a long-term, sustainable economy."
