DTD poker to branch out into offline venture

2007-02-22 16:35:11

Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) Poker, an online poker site that has been a hit with gamblers since its launch in December last year, has announced plans to create a land-based venue as it seeks to capitalise on its popularity.

The DTDpoker.com site has built its success around the high-quality games and services provided by software developer CryptoLogic, and the company's management hope that both the online and offline ventures will cause one another to grow still further.

"I'm hoping as many as 75 percent of our [live club] members will play online. A lot of the players that were already playing a lot of hours elsewhere have decided to cross over and start playing on our site with a view to making money to play with once the club opens," said Simon Trumper, who will be DTD's live poker director once the poker room launches in Nottingham, England.

"I'm hoping that it will have kind of a wave effect; the players that come in will tell people that haven't started playing online yet," he added.

The club is expected to open in April and seat around 500 players.
