Fresh recommendation for investment in online gambling firms

A look at the online casino industry has outlined enticing prospects for investor and gambler alike as firms continue to expand throughout Europe and Asia.

A MoneyWeek report on the health of firms within the UK noted that recent research from Mintel found that the number of online gamblers within the country had doubled in the past four years alone, with the potential for further increases in the future.

The attraction of online venues to key demographics such as the youth market was also a prospect for future growth, the study suggested.

While stating that Europe "remains both a safe bet and a still largely untapped market that is growing at a healthy clip," MoneyWeek advised that it was not just investors benefiting from online casinos.

"A hefty 92 per cent of the stakes received by betting operators are returned as prizes," it revealed, representing far greater returns for online gamblers than are to be found elsewhere.

Eight per cent of the UK's adults have gambled via remote technology within the last month, the country's Gambling Commission announced earlier this week.
