Fresh controversy over the location of one of the UK's forthcoming casinos has broken out in Great Yarmouth, in the latest in a series of disputes surrounding the new projects.
Council officials have criticised Yarmouth official Tony Wright for making his preference for a South Denes location known at such an early stage of proceedings, reports the Eastern Daily Press.
Details of a potential alternative site on the Golden Mile have yet to be disclosed, said deputy council leader Barry Stone.
"The Golden Mile site is probably the most significant property site ever to be put forward for redevelopment in the town. The resort's tourism prospects for the next 50 to 60 years are tied up with what happens on that site," he said.
In January it was suggested that Manchester was considering moving the location of its super-casino despite the venue having been awarded in part on the basis that the designated area would benefit from regeneration.
Meanwhile a number of officials, MPs and peers believe that it should have been Blackpool and not Manchester that was chosen as the super-casino site.
