London's biggest casino set for West End

London will attempt to get over its disappointment at missing out as the site of the UK's sole super-casino with the launch of the capital's biggest gambling venue yet in May.

The Casino at the Empire will relaunch in May replete with 50,000 square feet of casino floor space, under the control of London Clubs International.

The firm was recently purchased by Harrah's in a £279 million deal, with the US company commenting that it was seeking to establish its presence in the UK in doing so.

Formerly the Empire Ballroom, the Casino at the Empire will accommodate up to 1,700 people with 30 gaming tables available to play on.

"It will be a welcome addition to the West End, which has never seen an opening on such a scale before," a London Clubs spokesman claimed, according to thisislondon.co.uk
