Casino Royale breaks into all-time UK box office top ten

Casino Royale, the latest James Bond film that centres on a game of Texas Hold'Em poker, is now one of the ten most successful films of all time at the UK box office, it has been revealed.

The film, which sees Daniel Craig star for the first time as the famous superspy, is the UK's sixth highest grossing film ever, having taken more than £55 million thus far since its release late last year. A further £2 million in takings would see Casino Royale overtake Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and break into the top five.

However, the film has also hit headlines for different reasons this week, as it was revealed that British Airways had cut Richard Branson's cameo in the film.

Branson, head of rival firm Virgin Atlantic, does not feature in the version of the film currently screening on BA flights.

"We edit our in-flight films to remove material that might upset our customers," commented a spokesman.
