New laws that will allow casinos to advertise on television after the nine o' clock watershed will come into force this week.
From September 1st,casinos and other gambling outfits will be able to promote their industry in the nation's living room thanks to the Gambling Act 2005.
While the British Casino Association has said it is unaware of any individual casinos planning to advertise on TV this week, experts believe it is only a matter of time.
"Most of them sponsor TV programmes and most of them will transfer that to television advertising," said Clive Hawkswood, chief executive of the Remote Gambling Association.
"Lots of the gambling companies and the broadcasters have been having a look at the advertising," he told the Press Association.
Earlier this month the culture secretary James Purnell worked with the gaming industry to establish a code of conduct and one of the conditions was the nine o' clock watershed.
However, he agreed that sporting events which are screened earlier in the day would be exempted from this condition.
