It has been reported that Swansea's new Aspers casino the biggest in Wales has already signed up thousands of people.
According to the South Wales Evening Post, the city has gone "gambling mad", with 7,000 people already on Aspers' books.
On its opening night last week, more than 1,000 VIP guests turned up at the launch party and were greeted by a ten-metre red carpet and seven-foot gas flames.
Damian Aspinall, owner of Aspers, said: "On the evidence of the first night, I would say we definitely got it right.
"We are delighted to be in such an ambitious and forward-thinking city, where the people love to party."
The casino, located in Salubrious Place, includes an entertainments stage, a restaurant, a beauty parlour and three bars.
Aspers has predicted that it will attract 10,000 people a week, with more than £4 million spent on gambling over the coming year.
