G Casino makes a strong impression

2007-09-11 14:54:41

The new G Casino in Blackpool has been described as a "great" casino with a "tremendous atmosphere" by one poker player.

Kevin Bloor, writing in PokerNews, said that just from entering the casino, there is no doubt that it is a "quality establishment", thanks to its warm decor and friendly staff.

While the overall standard of the casino on the South Promenade is impressive, according to Mr Bloor, it is the poker room – the country's biggest – that is most notable.

"The poker room has 20 tables and on the last Bank holiday weekend in August the regular £30 freezeout attracted 203 runners," he enthused.

"Although the increased field [...] made for a shorter clock, which altered the game somewhat, the staff coped superbly."

He concluded his review by saying that he would make more trips to G Casino, which cost £3.5 million to build.

Formerly known as the Grosvenor Casino, it has been completely refitted and now includes a restaurant and a stage for live entertainment.
