Dublin's International Poker Open (IPO) set a new record this week for the most number of participants in a European poker tournament.
Ireland already held the European record, but the previous total of 708 for the Irish Open was shattered completely.
On October 6th, 1,072 players gathered at the RDS conference centre in Ballsbridge, to compete for a prize pool of 134,000 (£93,323).
The buy-in for the two-day event was 125 + 25, and Irishman Colin King took home the glory, winning the event's final table at the Jackpot Club
According to Cardplayer.com, the event also featured the world's youngest-ever dealer in eleven-year-old Jack Williams.
Williams is son of a tournament organiser and apparently "caused a stir by dealing his brother quad aces."
"No foul play was suspected though a few eyebrows were raised," the article added.
