Charity poker tournament in Warwickshire

2007-11-15 16:17:33

A 24-hour poker Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament is to take place in Warwickshire next month to raise money for charity, it has been reported.

Fred Hepburn, from Enterprise Inns is hosting the tournament which will raise money for the Myton House Hospice.

He told the Publican, "I haven't got a 24-hour licence so no alcohol will be served and there will be no spectators allowed between midnight and 10:00 GMT."

"But local restaurants will be supplying food through the night - you can't play poker on an empty stomach," he added.

Taking place at the Hod Carrier near Leamington Spa, the tournament will be split in to two 12-hour sessions, beginning at 14:00 GMT on Saturday December 29th.

Mr Hepburn has already raised £1,500 from the event through sponsorship.

According to PubInnGuide.com, the landlord of the Hod Carrier is Mark Hepburn.
