Plymouth leg of UK Poker Tour to air on Channel 4

2007-11-19 16:32:03

The Plymouth leg of the UK Poker Tour, filmed in September, will be shown tomorrow night in highlighted form, it has been reported.

European Poker Tour's top money finisher Julian Thew won the event, winning £70,000 ahead of Richard Frost, according to Plymouth's Herald.

Grosvenor Casino, which sponsors the tour, hosted the event that was shot over four days.

Channel 4 will now air the programme on Tuesday night in an hour-long programme, satrating at 00:05 GMT.

Dougie Anderson introduces the action, while Victoria Coren commentates.

Coren, the daughter of Alan Coren, is a good poker player in her own right, having won the main event of EPT: London in 2006.

A spokesperson for Grosvenor said: "This is the first time a UK Poker Tour - rather than a ready-made-for-TV-show or one-off tournament - has been on terrestrial television."
