A new casino in Swansea, Wales - one of the eight designated 'small' casinos - is awaiting a decision from the government before it can go ahead, it has been reported.
Following the delays over the super-casino plans for Manchester, Swansea council is now waiting to hear from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to see if they can proceed with their casino operation, according to the Swansea Evening Post.
"We need to establish what benefits people think such a development would bring and what the social and economic impact of an application would be," said council leader Chris Holley, on the preliminary moves to get plans underway.
"The measures backed by the cabinet will ensure comprehensive procedures are in place prior to any reconsideration in London and the applications that may follow."
Other areas wanting small casinos that were initially recommended by the Casino Advisory Panel include Luton, Scarborough and Wolverhampton.
