UK gamblers looking for a casino destination to travel to should jet off to Macau instead of Las Vegas, a national newspaper has said.
Discussing how the US plans to tighten up controls on tourists travelling from Europe, the Sunday Times suggested a number of alternatives to some of the country's most famous hotspots.
"Leave Las Vegas to Bette Midler and head east," the paper said, adding that Macau has "glitzier casinos", "prettier croupiers" and "fancier hotels".
Most casino-goers will probably already be aware that Macau is the world's largest gambling destination in terms of revenue and it boasts casinos operated by the biggest players in the industry, such as Steve Wynn, MGM Mirage and Las Vegas Sands.
Indeed Sands' Venetian Macau is the world's second largest building.
The Sunday Times also mentioned that fellow Chinese city Hong Kong is a good alternative to New York.
