Million-pound jackpots now available on mobile phones

Online casinos paved the way for huge jackpots worth well in excess of £1 million, but now one mobile phone gaming designer is getting in on the act.

Spin3 announced at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress that its Microgaming-designed progressive slot Major Millions will now be worth more than £1 million to the next winner.

"The fact that there is a real chance of someone winning £1 million on a mobile game is a huge milestone for the mobile casino industry," said company spokesman Matti Zinder on the world-first.

"We are very excited that the next Major Millions instant millionaire winner could be a mobile player."

Those playing the slot game on their mobile, or online, can wager £1 per spin, but only become eligible for the big prize by betting a £3 maximum.

Spin3 does not only produce slots, it also develops video poker and table games.
