A UK casino company has said it is happy with last week's announcement by the government that 16 large casinos will be given the go-ahead around the country.
Aspers, which is owned by the Packer Organisation and the Aspinall Group, claimed it will now be able to proceed with a number of its plans, according to Intergameonline.com.
"We have exciting projects in a significant number of the shortlisted local authority areas," said spokesman for the business Damian Aspinall.
"Our urban entertainment complexes go far beyond the creation of a new casino and will deliver substantial community benefits as well as being popular with customers."
Among Aspers proposals are new sites in Great Yarmouth and east London. More projects are planned but have yet to be officially announced.
The company already runs casinos in Newcastle and Swansea, but expressed regret at the government's refusal of Manchester's supercasino, calling it an opportunity missed.
