Online players heading to UK poker championship

The Genting Stanley National Poker Championships will play host to two rising stars of the online poker world at the end of this month, it has been announced.

France's Charles Michelleti and Canadian Jason Hussak have both been confirmed as participants following wins in internet qualifying tournaments.

"I hope that winning this satellite will only be the beginning for me in this tournament," Hussak told Titan Poker, after obtaining his berth.

The overall package won by the players is worth $3,000 (£1,507) and includes a seat at the five-day event, as well as accommodation at a luxury hotel for the duration of the trip.

Hussak has chosen to play at the Manchester stage of the event, which will also be held in Southend and Nottingham.

Seats for major tournaments are often won in online satellites, including places at the World Series of Poker championship.
