Doyle Brunson claims to be playing poker better than he has in a long time ahead of his grudge match with Patrick Antonius.
Discussing his time at the Irish Poker Open in his blog, the ten-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner remarked: "I played better than I have in years."
Brunson's statement may come as a surprise to many, as the Texas Dolly was eliminated from the tournament on day three and went home outside the cash bubble.
However, the Las Vegas resident says he has "no complaints" about his performance and implied he was at his best for at least three years, having won a WSOP title in 2005.
The boasts will likely not be welcomed by Atonius who challenged Brunson to any poker game of his choice earlier this year.
Brunson has said previously in his blog that he expects the match to happen when he next sees the Finnish player, probably at the Bellagio in April.
