Gaming companies in the UK will have to wait until after parliament's spring break before they find out whether changes will be made to the rules regarding slot machine numbers, it has been revealed.
Bingo and arcade operators were adversely affected by a previous decision to restrict the number of slots the venues will be able to carry, as well as the removal of £500 jackpot machines, Reuters reports.
According to the news provider, experts are predicting that the government is unlikely to change the rules straight away and is more likely to order a review instead.
A spokesperson said: "It's a complex issue, discussions are still ongoing and we will make an announcement in due course."
The slot regulations are just one of a number of things to have hit bingo operators in recent years, with changes to taxes and the implementation of the smoking ban both having detrimental effects.
