CryptoLogic signs deal in South Korea

CryptoLogic, one of the world's leading online casino software providers, has bought a stake in South Korean company Mobilebus.

The move by the company, which provides games for InterCasino and has won numerous awards over the years, is part of CryptoLogic's continued expansion into the Asian gaming market.

"Asia is critical to CryptoLogic's 'follow the sun' approach to business: it's about having development going around the clock, around the world," remarked Brian Hadfield, president of the firm.

"As an experienced game developer in a gaming-friendly market, Mobilebus will help bring players a uniquely Korean entertainment experience."

Mobilebus develops games for the PC and mobile phone industries and CryptoLogic has obtained what is said to be a "substantial minority stake", with the chance to buy more shares in the future.

CryptoLogic had been helping to develop Holland Casino's online venture, which was blocked by the Dutch parliament last month. The company claims it has not been affected by the decision.
