21 blunder "wrecked the credibility"

2008-04-11 14:54:11

A mistake involving the positioning of the Hard Rock casino is the biggest problem one reviewer has with the Hollywood movie 21, which is out in the UK today.

Chicago's Southtown Star film critic the Regular Guy said that one scene, in which Caesars Palace and the Bellagio can unrealistically be seen from the window of the Hard Rock "wrecked the credibility" of the Kevin Spacey motion picture.

The visual blunder is mentioned on website Movie Mistakes, alongside a comment from a user who pointed out that the Wynn casino - which can be seen in the film - was not built during 21's timeline.

A "lapse in attention to Vegas detail" is how the Regular Guy describes the worst faults, although other reviewers took greater offence to different characteristics.

Gary Brown, of Houston Community Newspapers, commented: "What starts out as a cerebral exercise surrenders to glitzy, formulaic poppycock, with a climatic chase scene that's about as exciting as watching me in a foot race with Carl Lewis."
