Top poker star heading to London

London has been chosen as one of Shannon Shorr's holiday destinations during his month off from poker.

The rising star has elected to visit the UK capital after taking a trip to his native Alabama first, he told his blog readers.

While in London, Shorr will see a football match, although he did not reveal which game he had tickets to see.

He will follow up that leg of his vacation with some time in Amsterdam, before heading back to his temporary home in Las Vegas for the start of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Shorr was eliminated from the WSOP Circuit championship event at Caesars Palace yesterday and claimed he was disappointed because he will not play anymore poker for a while.

Explaining his chances of getting a game while in London, he remarked: "There probably will be very little time for poker, but that really doesn't matter to me at all to be honest."
