The second World Poker Tour Spanish Championship started yesterday at Casino Barcelona.
Super Satellite No-Limit Hold'em games with unlimited re-buys and add-ons make up the initial two-day's play.
The main event will have a 5,000 + 300 buy-in, and is set to begin tomorrow and will conclude with the six-player final table on May 27th.
The final table will not be filmed for television, but the top seven players will receive World Poker Tour Player of the Year points for this season.
Poker-made millionaire Antonio Asfandiari, who recently placed eighth at the European Poker Tour Grand Final this spring, will be attending the event - as will Finland's Juha Helppi.
Asfandiari commented on the return to Spain, saying: "The Spanish Championship drew a tough field last year, and I expect the competition to be even bigger and better this season."
