Gambling term moves further up Lycos list

Poker has risen up Lycos's internet search term rankings for the third time in successive weeks.

The popular card game is now 22nd in the list - its first entry into the top 25 for several months.

It rose 12 places over the last seven days, with the approach of the biggest event on the poker calendar the - World Series of Poker - perhaps the main reason why.

The card playing extravaganza gets underway tomorrow in Las Vegas with the $10,000 World Championship Pot-Limit Hold'em tournament kicking off the series.

Ahead of poker in the search list is Mariah Carey, who was third the week before. Behind it in 23rd place is computer game Runescape.

Topping the table for the period is Paris Hilton, who is ahead of top ten regulars YouTube, Clay Aiken and Naruto.

Nick Hogan, Disney, WWE and Facebook are all near to the number one spot, along with Pamela Anderson and Pokemon.
