"The Devilfish" Dave Ulliott and Roland De Wolfe are among the professionals expected to perform the best out of any British or Irish player at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event, according to the bookmakers.
Ulliott already has a WSOP bracelet in his trophy collection but has never managed better than 72nd in poker's richest tournament.
De Wolfe on the other hand has never won a WSOP event and has yet to finish in the money in the headline tournament, although he does have good pedigree in big competitions having earned European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour titles in the past.
Other players fancied to perform well are WSOP bracelet holder Ram Vaswani, Julian Gardner, Dave Colclough and Surinder Sunar.
Jeff Kimber, Julian Thew, Praz Bansi, Joe Beevers, Andy Black and Marty Smyth are also among the UK and Ireland's favourites.
Gus Hansen, Carlos Mortensen and Patrick Antonius are the Europeans expected to do the best.
