The man who helped teach former EastEnders actor Michael Greco to play poker has followed in his protege's footsteps and made it to the final table of a World Series of Poker (WSOP) event.
"Mad" Marty Wilson, one of the most popular characters on the UK poker circuit, currently lies eighth overnight heading into the last day of the WSOP $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em World Championship.
Greco was in a similar position in an event earlier in the week, eventually being knocked out in ninth.
Wilson is familiar to poker fans in the UK due to his appearances on hit Channel 4 card show Late Night Poker.
The Wolverhampton man finished fourth in the final of series three, which was eventually won by Phil Hellmuth.
Other noted British celebrities who have benefited from Wilson's tutelage over the years include Soccer AM presenter Helen Chamberlain, darts legend Phil Taylor and sports promoter Barry Hearn.
