"Mad" Marty Wilson, the man who helped teach former EastEnders star Michael Greco to become a poker player, went the exact same way as his former pupil in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em World Championship last night.
Entering the final table in eighth position, Wilson proceeded to be the first person eliminated in ninth - the exact same position Greco finished in a WSOP event just a few days earlier.
It will be back to the drawing board for the Wolverhampton professional, who first competed at the WSOP in 1985 but has yet to win a bracelet.
Yesterday was only the third time he had finished in the money at poker's biggest tournament series since 1997.
The result nevertheless lifts Wilson into the list of England's top 100 biggest live tournament earners, according to TheHendonMob.com.
He lies in 93rd place with just under $5 million less than leader Dave "The Devilfish" Ulliott.
