Greco and Warne out of WSOP

2008-07-11 15:29:24

UK poker enthusiasts may be disappointed to hear of the exits of EastEnders actor Michael Greco and Australian cricket legend Shane Warne from the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.

Greco, who reached his first WSOP final table at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino this summer, was knocked out just three places before the money bubble burst, while ex-Hampshire player Warne went to the rail about 20 places earlier.

There is yet to be any news on how Steve Davis faired during the day.

The six-time world snooker champion was in an excellent position to secure the second cash finish of his career after day two, but how he managed to do during last night's action has yet to be reported.

Davis, Warne and Greco were three of the few celebrities left in the poker tournament, which was entered by the likes of American Pie actress Shannon Elizabeth and UFC champion Forrest Griffin.
