The Grosvenor Casino off St Thomas Road in Huddersfield was targeted by the Germans during World War II, according to a local newspaper.
A lorry and coach manufacturing plant at the time, the building was highlighted as one of the main priorities for the German armed forces in a planned invasion of the UK, the Huddersfield Daily Examiner reports.
The information was recently revealed by a map, purchased by the nearby Bullecourt Museum.
Those visiting the site today are much more likely to have gambling success on their minds than invasion, with the casino offering 24 slot machines and ten table games - including American roulette, casino stud poker and blackjack.
Grosvenor also contains a restaurant and a bar and is open every day from 18:00 BST to 06:00 BST.
The casino chain is one of the biggest in the UK and is owned by the Rank Group, alongside Mecca Bingo and bookmakers Blue Square.
