Tilly out of Poker Million

2008-07-25 16:12:24

One of the biggest names in this year's Ladbrokes Poker Million event, Jennifer Tilly, has been eliminated.

The actress-turned-poker player was knocked out of heat five, one of the toughest first round tables of the competition.

Marius Hogten came out on top, according to Matchroom Poker, with Ciaran O'Leary in second. Jeff Kimber also went to the rail.

Tilly's boyfriend Phil Laak was also sent home early in heat six.

Vicky Coren was the other star player at the table, but she too was unsuccessful, with Liam Flood eventually winning and Ian Cox coming second.

They are joined in the semi-finals by Ryan Fronda from heat four and the week's other winning competitors, Jonus Danilsson, Ross Boatman and Barny Boatman.

Other big names yet to play their first round matches include Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott and Roland De Wolfe, who is the favourite to win heat seven tonight, according to Jesse May's Matchroom Poker preview.
