The main event of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour's (GUKPT) sixth stage gets underway today in Luton.
According to the official website for the organisation, the participation levels have been good so far in the preliminary tournaments and "big numbers are expected" for the £500 buy-in finale.
The Tour has been dominated this year by some of the biggest names in UK poker, with Julian Thew and Jeff Kimber winning competitions in Brighton and Walsall respectively.
Thew currently lies third in the overall GUKPT rankings, behind Nik Persaud and Mark Goodwin.
Ketul Nathwani, who has also won a stage this year, and Kimber make up the rest of the top five.
A European Poker Tour titlist, Thew is considered to be one of the best players on the UK poker circuit.
The Nottinghamshire-based competitor has a long history of success with Grosvenor, having taken down the casino company's Grand Challenge in 2005.
