London poker club to make PITP appearance

2008-08-11 16:31:25

The newly licensed Fox Poker Club (FPC) in London will be one of the exhibitors at the upcoming Poker in the Park (PITP) event in England's capital.

It was announced by the organisers of Europe's "biggest poker fair" that the venue will be responsible for the VIP Lounge, which will be situated outside The Casino at the Empire on August 15th and August 16th

Intended "for attendees to relax in between playing and learning," the area will be a chance for FPC to showcase itself ahead of a planned opening in 2009.

Those visiting the VIP Lounge will have the opportunity to sign up for a month's free membership, according to the FPC's website.

Poker stars Phil Laak, Joe Beevers and Barny Boatman all hold shares in FPC, which hopes to also open clubs in Bournemouth and Birmingham in the next few years.

Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham became the UK's first legal poker venue in 2007.
