Genting Stanley, one of the largest casino companies operating in the UK, is to send representatives to its venues across the country over the next month in preparation for a major meeting to be held on October 14th.
The Southern Daily Echo reports that the firm, which owns the Mint, Circus and Maxims chains, has clashed with unions after refusing to give in to demands for a 4.7 per cent pay rise for staff.
Bobby McGhee, a representative of the company, said that an annual pay review would not take place until January 2009, two-and-a-half months after the talks in the autumn.
"We would like to thank all our staff for their support and contribution during these challenging times," he remarked.
Genting Stanley is owned by the Genting Group, a Malaysian organisation which is among the biggest gaming operators in the world.
The firm came about when Genting purchased Stanley Casinos for £613 million last year.
