Doyle Brunson has announced that he will take part in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe tournament at the Casino at the Empire in London's Leicester Square later this month.
The ten-time WSOP bracelet winner, who will equal Phil Hellmuth's record of 11 should he take victory in England's capital, wrote in his blog that he is set to participate in numerous other events around the main competition, including a heads-up with Annette Obrestad.
"I know that she is a good player, but it will be embarrassing to lose to an 18-year-old girl," he remarked.
Brunson had said earlier that he was to take several weeks off from poker after the Asian Poker Tour competition in Macau left him exhausted last month.
However, his body has now "almost completely recovered" and he suggested he will be going into the match with Obrestad - who is actually 19 - in top condition.
