Online casino awards 'don't always go to the big sites'

2008-09-16 12:10:25

Bigger is not necessarily better as far as online casinos are concerned, a representative of e-Gaming Review magazine has suggested.

Jake Pollard, editor of the industry publication, implied that when it gives out its annual awards, size does not really come into it.

"It's not necessarily the biggest who always wins, it's who's made [the] best use of resources [and] showed [the] most innovation and initiative in growing their company," he remarked.

The next awards ceremony takes place on Friday September 19th with gongs up for grabs in 18 different categories, including most responsible operator and best marketing campaigner.

A group of 12 judges sit across two panels to decide the winners, Mr Pollard explained, with the journalists from e-Gaming Review assisting them with information as opposed to picking which firms the awards go to themselves.

This helps the publication to remain as neutral and impartial as possible, the spokesman added.
