London poker ace Neil Channing is in with a chance of reaching his second final table in three tournaments at the World Series of Poker Europe event this week.
The 2008 Irish Poker Open winner lies fourth in the chip count after day one of the pot-limit Omaha competition, Poker News reports.
Channing will have to survive several dozen big names if he is going to make it through to the last nine, however.
Jason Mercier, Shaun Deeb, Phil Laak, Allen Cunningham and Doyle Brunson are just a few of the famous faces set to return for the second day's action.
Phil Hellmuth, Annette Obrestad, Tom Dwan and Barry Greenstein are among the top competitors to have already gone to the rail.
A prize of £218,626 awaits the eventual winner of the £5,000 buy-in tournament.
Channing currently lies 31st in Card Player's player of the year list and another final table finish should lift him even further up the rankings.
