Returning UK poker tour draws praise

The Gala Coral British Poker Tour (GCBPT) has been praised by Poker News, which referred to it as "one of the best value poker tours in the UK".

Referring to the £5,000 sum that gets added to the prize pool of the £500 main event, the Grand Final seats that are up for grabs and a high number of "weak" players, the publication suggested that the GCBPT is among the best events to play in the British Isles.

The comments were made as the tour arrived in Teesside for the penultimate leg before the Grand Final is held in Bristol in December.

It has already hosted competitions in Edinburgh, Nottingham, Bristol and Liverpool this year.

The GCBPT is one of the biggest British poker tours, along with the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour.

In recent years, the country's poker circuit has grown increasingly popular, with London's World Series of Poker Europe and European Poker Tour events among the largest tournaments on the planet.
