Will Fry has joined the exclusive club of British card sharps who have taken down a European Poker Tour (EPT) event.
The Nottingham competitor emerged victorious from the latest EPT competition in Budapest and picked up 595,839 (£478,953) for his troubles.
Ciprian Hrisca was his heads-up victim, losing out when he pushed all-in with ace-six against pocket jacks in the final hand of the day.
Martin Jacobson finished in third place, with Albert Iversen, Marino Serenelli, Gino Alacqua, Zoltan Toth and Johnny Lodden making up the rest of the final table places.
The last UK poker player to win an EPT title was Julian Thew, who won the Baden Classic during season four.
Other competitors from the country to have tasted EPT glory include John Shipley (London, season one), Ram Vaswani (Dublin, season one), Marc Telscher (London, season two), Victoria Coren (London, season three) and Roland De Wolfe (Dublin, season three).
