Tom 'Durrr' Dwan kicked off his first ever PartyPoker Premier League campaign with a victory yesterday in heat two.
The internet superstar - who has won $6 million already this year according to Jess May - beat Premier League veteran Tony G in the heads-up to take the victory and the prize of six points, Matchroom Poker reports.
Another multi-time Premier League player Victoria Coren went out in third position, in front of fellow regulars Phil Hellmuth and Juha Helppi and debutant Nenad Medic.
Dwan's winning performance appeared to surpass May's expectations, with the commentator writing in his Matchroom tournament preview beforehand that he felt Durrr may just be too aggressive to cope with the Premier League's format, which is better suited to cautious playing.
"I am not aware that he has the desire or ability to play the tight gear and unfortunately here it means a lot of early exits," he remarked.
