Helppi takes down third Premier League heat

2008-11-26 12:09:14

Juha Helppi won heat three of the PartyPoker Premier League III yesterday as he attempts to regain the title he won back in 2007.

According to Matchroom Poker, the Finnish competitor defeated Annette Obrestad in the heads-up to win ten points and take his total for the league up to 12.

Obrestad moved on to ten points in total, while Roland De Wolfe's third-place finish increased his score to six.

Nenad Medic came fourth to pick up his first points of the competition and Tony G went from first to second-to-last to tie with Helppi at the top of the table on 12 points.

Phil Hellmuth, who has a history of erratic results in the Premier League, was the first to be eliminated and added no points to his total of three from Monday.

In his pre-tournament preview, Jesse May suggested it is unlikely that Helppi may be able to maintain his winning form, making him the 11th favourite to take the title.
