JC Tran made it two victories from two attempts yesterday at the PartyPoker Premier League III.
The Vietnamese-American, who is playing the competition for the first time, defeated veteran Victoria Coren in the heads-up of heat four to go top of the league with a maximum 20 points.
Coren's second-place finish left her in strong contention on ten points, while reigning champion Andy Black moved on to seven points by finishing third.
Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott recovered from his sixth place on Monday to pick up his first points of the tournament - three for coming fourth.
Tom 'Durrr' Dwan was fifth - increasing his score to eight points - and World Series of Poker main event winner Peter Eastgate came last to remain on six.
Tran was Jesse May's second favourite in his pre-competition preview for Matchroom and he appears to be living up to expectations so far.
He reportedly claimed beforehand that he was coming to the Premier League to win.
