Hellmuth takes down heat six of Premier League

2008-11-27 12:16:33

Phil Hellmuth picked up his first victory of the PartyPoker Premier League III yesterday, defeating Roland De Wolfe in the heads-up of heat six.

The Poker Brat, who was Jesse May's seventh favourite to win the competition before it began, came out on top when his king-ten stood up to the Wolfman's ace-queen in the final hand.

Tom 'Durrr' Dwan finished in third place, ahead of reigning champion Andy Black, Tony G and Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott.

G's two points were good enough to keep him in front of the other players in his heat in the rankings and he currently sits in joint third overall on 14.

Hellmuth lies one point behind him in sixth place, followed by Dwan and De Wolfe who both have 12 points.

Black has ten points for joint ninth position, while Devilfish props up the bottom of the table on three.

Prior to the tournament beginning, Jesse May had made Ulliott the favourite to win.
