A spokesman for the Remote Gambling Association has stated his belief that the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) will eventually ease back on its scrutinising of gaming adverts.
Brian Wright, business director, claimed that the government clearly wants to demonstrate that it is "tough on gambling companies" amid a strong media spotlight.
However, following an easing in period, he expects that the ASA will start to take a less cautious approach with gaming marketing.
Gambling companies have only been allowed to advertise on television, radio and in the written press since September 2007.
"Hopefully, [they] can realise that gambling companies don't pose any great threat," he remarked. "I'm sure they will relax their position."
The RGA was formed in August 2005 through a merger between the Interactive Gaming, Gambling and Betting Association and the Association of Remote Gambling Operators.
It represents the world's largest remote gambling operators, acting as their voice on issues of regulation and legislation.
