Gala Coral has explained its withdrawal from the British Casino Association (BCA) was as a result of the need to establish a single trade association.
The organisation went on to note that a new union would represent the views of the gambling industry better and more effectively.
A spokesman for the company said: "We've got a new gambling act, with a new regulator, the Gambling Commission, and there are lots of strategic issues that affect the whole of the industry."
He went on to state that such issues are "best served" by a single trade association.
Gala Coral's withdrawal from the BCA in October 2008 also saw the firm pulling out of the Remote Gambling Association, the Bingo Association, and the association of British Bookmakers.
The Gambling Act 2005 was formed to ensure gambling is not a source of crime or disorder, or is not associated with such lawless behaviour.
It also states it should be conducted in a fair way and should not harm or exploit children or other vulnerable people.
