Poker academy to be staged at Manchester casino

2009-04-22 17:17:51

The 235 Casino in Manchester has been confirmed as the venue for Bluff Europe's first poker academy.

A number of events are being held in the UK and Ireland by the magazine, with the aim of giving players the chance to take tips from some of the game's top stars.

The inaugural poker academy will be held this Saturday (April 26th) and will feature three hours of interactive lectures, as well as four hours of tournament play.

Professionals making appearances will include Phil 'the Unabomber' Laak and Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott.

Master of ceremonies Alex Rousso remarked: "This is a great opportunity for intermediate players to come along and improve their game by learning from some of the best players in the country," adding that "a lot of fun" will also be had.

Last week it emerged that the London Hippodrome, located in Leicester Square, is to be turned into a casino after an application from United Leisure Gaming was approved.
