Milton Keynes takes step closer to new casino

2009-04-24 13:41:36

A new casino looks set to be on the way to Milton Keynes after planning permission was granted.

MK News reports that a special planning meeting last night (April 23rd) resulted in developers from the Xscape centre receiving approval.

The proposed venue in the centre of the city is intended to include over 100 slot machines, with the publication noting that prizes will be as high as £4,000.

However, restrictions have been placed on the planned hotel that could accompany the casino.

The high-rise building was set to stand at over 60 metres - taller than the Xscape buildings - but has now been set a maximum height of 49.5 metres.

Earlier this week, the Rank Group announced that it is planning a redevelopment of the casino at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

The company acquired the site from Isle of Capri and will now invest £1 million before launching it under the G Casino brand.
