A Rotherham woman has come through a field of 62 entrants to secure a place in the Betfred Ladies Poker Tour Grand Final.
Mel Lofthouse, 38, overcame the flu to take down the top prize of £2,240, as well as an iPod, the Star reports.
The former editor of Poker News magazine became chip leader with two tables remaining, before eventually coming out on top after one of the longest games in the three-year history of the tour.
According to the news source, Lofthouse secured the victory 05:00 BST and is now set to progress to November's final.
"I was delighted to win, especially as I wasn't feeling great and hadn't been getting much sleep," she was quoted as saying.
Last month, Emily Curzon booked a place in the Grand Final by taking down an event at the Alea Casino in Leeds, for which she was awarded 3,000 (£2,644).
