Lisandro tipped to win WSOP stud championship

2009-06-03 16:57:27

Poker pro Max Pescatori has tipped Jeffrey Lisandro to take down the $10,000 stud championship at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

The event is already down to the final two tables, among which are Hasan Habib, Greg Mueller and four-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu, reports Poker Listings.

Pescatori's choice is not just based on a hunch as Lisandro has already picked up a bracelet in a WSOP stud event.

In 2007 he took down the $2,000 seven-card-stud event, outlasting a final table that included Nick Frangos and Negreanu.

"Jeffrey [Lisandro] is one of my favourite players ... I think he's my favourite of the people still in it to win the tournament," Pesctari commented.

Wherever Lisandro finishes, he stands to pocket at least $29,152, but if Pescatori is correct, the gamer will leave the competition with $373,744 to add to his bankroll.

Lisandro's most profitable win was when he took down the main event at the Lake Tahoe on the WSOP circuit.
