Dusk Till Dawn 'facing closure'

2009-06-04 16:57:13

Famous UK poker room Dusk Till Dawn could be facing closure within the next few weeks, it has been revealed.

According to Rob Yong, owner of the venue, the recession and recent tightening of gaming legislation will force the project to end.

The club was opened to the public in 2007 and it was the first establishment to hold a casino license and only offer poker.

"It's very saddening after all the hard work that myself and my staff have put into the club, but it's highly likely we'll be closing," Mr Yong commented.

It is thought that more than 100 jobs could be lost if the venue has to be closed down.

The owner has indicated that he will have to consider his options over the next month or so, adding that "it's not a very good situation".

Earlier this week, Daniel Nutt took down the Dusk Till Dawn main event, pocketing £81,250 in prize money.
